Figures and plush toys take up more shelf space than anything else at the Japanzon Asakusa (浅草) store. New items and second-hand items sit on the same shelves, the way a Japanese hobby shop is normally laid out, so a boxed release and an older piece you have been looking for can end up next to each other.

The shop is a four-minute walk from Kaminarimon (雷門), so it fits easily into an afternoon around Senso-ji. Stock changes constantly — we cannot promise a particular character is in today — but the categories below are always represented.

With or without the box

Second-hand figures are graded on the condition of the box as well as the figure itself. Items that come without their original box are kept on the shelves too,. If the box matters to you — for display or for carrying it home — check it before buying, and ask staff if you want the condition explained.

Selling figures and plush at the counter

The shop also buys figures and plush toys, over the counter only. Staff look at the items with you in the store and give a valuation; coming in for a valuation alone is fine, with no obligation to sell. Sellers under 18 need the consent of a parent or guardian. Japanese law requires us to check your identity when we buy items from you; it is not needed when you buy from us.
