Japanzon Asakusa Store has a plastic model section, a few minutes from Kaminarimon (雷門). If you are walking around Asakusa and want to look at Gundam model kits, or at plastic models in general, you can come in and handle the boxes yourself. Staff speak English.

Gundam model kits and gunpla in Asakusa

Gunpla (ガンプラ) — the Gundam plastic model line — is the part of the shelf most visitors come for. Alongside it we carry other character models, scale models, and general model kits (プラモデル). What is on the shelf changes as things sell, so we cannot promise a particular box is waiting for you; if you are after one specific kit, call before you come.

Second-hand kits

We sell used kits as well as new ones. Before a used kit goes on the shelf, we check it for missing parts and note whether the instruction sheet is there. Take the box down and look at it — that is what it is there for, and if anything is unclear, ask.

Buying plastic models in Tokyo: finding us

The shop is on the ground floor, directly opposite Asakusa Public Hall (浅草公会堂), on Orange Street. From Kaminarimon it is about 280 m, four minutes on foot; from Asakusa Station it is also about four minutes. We are open every day of the year, so a visit to the shop fits easily either side of Senso-ji (浅草寺).

Selling your kits to us

We also buy plastic models over the counter, including part-built kits and boxes you never got around to opening: bring them to the shop, a staff member looks at them in front of you and gives you a valuation, and you are welcome to come for the valuation alone. Sellers under 18 need the consent of a parent or guardian. Please bring identification — Japanese law on second-hand dealing requires it. More about selling to us.
